Some say Mac-a-Ron some say Mac-a-Roon… Either way there is no disagreement that these little treats are super tasty! Smooth and shiny crust on the outside with delicious chewy meringue inside… Times that by two, they are sandwiched perfectly with a sticky center like jam, caramel, ganache or buttercream! Yum.
Friday in Toronto it is Macaron Day 2015, an entire day dedicated to celebrating these tasty treats AND support local shops while giving back to the community! Sweet spots around the city are serving up free samples AND donating to the charities they support. Coinciding with Macaron Day taking place in Paris, NYC and other international cities, Macaron Day in Toronto celebrates these delicate confections in support of a local charity.
Join us on Thursday, March 20th, 2014 when participating patisseries across Toronto will come together to offer complimentary macarons to customers.
To receive your macaron, visit a participating patisserie and simply mention you are celebrating Macaron Day TO. Participating locations will provide one macaron per customer at no cost, with quantities limited by location.

Me and some of the Lakeshore Moms Group are celebrating with a meetup at CakeStar on the Lakeshore followed by a walk and coffee in our neighbourhood! Cakestar is serving up special flavors on the big day but they are keeping them secret – they told me today there will be “a rainbow of flavors”… I can’t wait to try them!
Hope you will visit your local participating sweet shop to show support on this fun day – share some photos with me online #craftycelebrations
Have a sweet day!
