Celebrate LOVE

I am pretty excited for Valentine’s Day… In fact I started celebrating weeks ago. I believe my excitement over this holiday of LOVE comes from many years as a single girl hating the dreaded day in my early 20s! Now with my kids and hubby I get to go crazy showing and sharing LOVE. First I started by decorating the house, then stocked up on themed colouring books and heart stickers, browsed Pinterest for some Valentine’s foodie ideas and last I did some shopping. I am not talking cheap chocolates and flowers – I found sweet treats minus the calories for my loved ones! I hope you enjoy my round-up of cute and functional Valentine’s day gifts for your kids, moms/wives/sisters/friends or even a few treats for yourself! I am purposefully sharing my fave products from $5 to $100 so there is something for everyone.

For the women in your lifeimage

I have a secret list saved on Pinterest that only my husband has access to… THE list is called “the hubby helper” it is basically things I see that I want to buy for myself but shouldn’t. When he needs gift inspiration he heads to THE list. It’s been a win-win for us 😉 You are getting a sneak peek at some things currently on my list, cute finds for moms, sisters, wives OR for yourself! #tomefromme

For the kiddos in your life
I once learned a great tip from another mama blog: something they need, something to read, something to wear and something for play. I love this rule of thumb when gift giving for my kiddos.

For babies under 1 they need lots of things so they are easy and fun to shop for! All my kids items are great for boys or girls.

For the older ones

One to three is a fun age where real toys start to become popular and they actually pick and choose the clothes they like. I know my bella would be happy with a colouring book from the Dollarama BUT I have some special surprises for her this Valentine’s Day. She was pretty excited when I pulled out this “hearts!!!” tee from Hello Merch this morning for her to wear at school to hand out all her Valentine’s!

Remember celebrating LOVE is not just about the gifts (although they are super fun to give!) showing someone you love them can come from something that costs you nothing at all. A sweet handmade card, breakfast in bed, cleaning their car, love notes hidden in unexpected places or simply going on a family walk together. Thanks for visiting the blog and I would love to hear any feedback you have as I start out on this new adventure!

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY from #craftycelebrations

  1. OH MY we love the same stuff for sure. Im obsessed with life factory bottles and I follow a similar gift giving rule of Christmas of something to they want, need, wear and read. And that Starbucks tumbler is only $9.95, its a must have at that price!

  2. Kirsti,
I love the links you’ve shared – thank you! I love celebrating various holidays as well by spoiling those around me with homemade treats. Having kids definitely adds a different dimension on HOW to celebrate. I loved baking and shopping for loved ones before my son, but I love it even more now. For his Valentine’s Day party at daycare I made a healthier version of red velvet cupcakes (using beets instead of food colouring) and made little heart fish Valentines for his teachers. Daddy is also getting a hand-made card 🙂 Pinterest is a great place to brainstorm for sure!
